Chicago based Nelson Gill has been performing across the United States and the Caribbean for over a decade. This multi-talented artist with strong Caribbean roots (Nelson Gill was born in Belize, Central America) will have you dancing 'till you drop-literally!!! His music is a reflection of all the beauty that is the Caribbean. The audience is introduced to joyously authentic Caribbean rhythms. On any given concert or gig one is likely to hear from; soulful reggae tunes with it's pulsating rhythms, to the vibrant hip swinging punta (dance from his native land) to merengue or soca (soul calypso) rhythms. And, just when you think you have danced it all - the band introduces the ever popular limbo dance which once again, beckons the audience to move their hips - only this time while dancing under a stick! Nelson Gill has released four albums on Etcetera Records label- and with each his universe of listeners grows. 'Going Places' was released in 1990 on Etcetera Records label and reach and audience of mostly young children. With 'Friends' released in 1992, Parents, Teachers and School Administrators were getting into the rhythms. 'One World, One Light' has crossed over to the adult audience with universal themes of living together harmoniously and working through adversity, from the United States to Central America. Nelson Gill's fourth album was released in August of 2003. With this latest album Gill explores and addresses the infinite and perpetual theme of love.
