'Tight Perm' is the very first album released by Winnipeg indie-rock band The Perms. Waaaaay back in 1998, three guys were living in a van down by the Red River. They were a rock band, you see, and that's what true rock bands do. After many concerts in bars, pubs, taverns and clubs, the band finally had a chance to record & release an album. So they did, and here it is for your enjoyment! OK, seriously: The Perms debut album 'Tight Perm' was paid for from money bassist Shane Smith received from breaking his leg in a freak accident at his high school. The albums first single "Love at First Sight" became the bands first video and propelled the band from their basement to clubs and festivals across Canada.
