Pholksinger Josh's debut full-length record is a-hootin' and a-hollerin' and a-vailable now! Recorded in the summer of 2007 at Ragamuffin Music in Roswell, GA, 'Southern Dirt' marks a coming-of-age for the 19 year-old singer-songwriter. Josh's songs come directly from the world he sees around him: school, war, religion, curfew, love (lost and found), leaving home, weather and so on. The overall sound of the record is definitively 'Gangsta Folk' rooted in folk, country, blues, hip-hop and spoken-word poetry. Gabe Klein-Kuhn (aka Young Lion) contributes greatly to the album, adding drums, vocals and even co-writing a song, in addition to engineering and producing. Mark Brueker also added his engineering talents to the record. Mastering was done by Anthony Stubelek and Jack Terrell at RockStudio in Brunswick, GA. -from 18th Summer (April to August): 'as april turns to august i i leave my childhood. Spring done turned to summer in this year and in this life'
