Get Yer Meathooks Off My Radio[CD]
Pinfield was born in New York City in the winter of 2002. Three old friends converged around a new batch of songs written by singer/guitarist David Wallace. Though they had played together in various settings, this was the first time they had played as a band. Drawn to each other by a mutual love of the experimental pop/rock of The Beatles and Radiohead and the quirky punk-pop of Elvis Costello and The Pixies; Wallace, Janice Cruz (Drums, Vocals) and Ben Zwerin (Bass) formed Pinfield. Their punchy sound stresses equal importance on sonic and melodic brilliance, blending wit and lyricism with an art pop sensibility. Dynamic vocals and big pop hooks meet and mingle with big rock beats and loud guitars for a sound Wallace calls 'nutritious candy. It tastes good - but it's good for you.' Recorded and mixed by Janice, their self-produced debut, Get Yer Meathooks Off My Radio encapsulates the broad range of Pinfield. From high energy, up-tempo rockers like 'Spokes' and 'Steampipes' to the politically charged '(I Don't Wanna Hear From) Sunday' and the anthems 'Let Me In' and 'Travel Light', 'Get Yer Meathooks...' offers a glimpse into a style of rock music that doesn't pander to the latest trends. Armed with great songs, memorable hooks and a seemingly psychic connection to each other, Pinfield is creating a sound all their own. Having played many of the best clubs in New York, including Mercury Lounge, Arlene Grocery, Luna Lounge and Brownies, Pinfield are poised to take their act out on the road. With a new CD, and a growing fan base, the three members of the band look forward to whatever lies ahead.
