For Motion Discomfort
Born from the smoldering ashes of Joni's Butterfly in the fall of 1999, the members of Planeside are veterans of the independent music scene. Bassist Ken Hirasaki and Drummer Craig Sala have been together as a rhythm section since 1992. During their time in Joni's Butterfly, they released 3 CDs and toured all of the U.S. & Canada as the opening act for The Who's John Entwistle. They also shared bills with Fuel, Fishbone, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Face to Face, Mike Watt and dozens of other acts. Singer/Guitarist David Harris met the band in 1995 and briefly worked for them on the road, until now. Planeside takes heavy, guitar-riden rock and molds it into insightful, energetic (and sometimes dark) anthems that are fueled by commanding drum beats and inspired by the rock we once knew.
