Man & His Silvertone
Since 1980 I\'ve played many solo gigs with my trusty Silvertone electric guitar and Peavey Bandit 65 amp. Back then the only other singer/songwriters playing solo electric, that I knew of, were Billy Bragg and Jonathan Richman. I\'ve always liked the idea of someone playing alone plugged in as opposed to acoustic. There aren\'t as many of you so it tends to stand out more in the sea of unplugged! Over the years people have come up to me ( okay, maybe it was only one person) at solo gigs and asked if I had any CDs available with just me and the guitar. I didn\'t. Now I do! A Man and His Silvertone ( my 10th CD) was recorded live in the studio with no overdubs, warts and all. We didn\'t \' fix\' anything. I recorded sixteen songs ( selections from past and future CDs) in an hour and a half and then whittled it down to eleven. I certainly don\'t have perfect pitch and I whack the Silvertone a little bit out here and there but this is as real as I can get. Hope you like!
