Reagan National Crash Diet RNCD take the sound and excitement of 80s LA punk and the hooks of a straight-up pop rock band, mix it up with a little art rock and let it ride. Stuck to the underbelly of the Chicago music scene since 2000, RNCD has spent the past three years tightening their sound while gaining a reputation locally as a band to watch. In addition to playing Chicago clubs (Empty Bottle, Fireside, Abbey Pub) with the likes of Cobre Verde, The Chargers, The Fags and Cheetah Chrome, they've also struck out across the Midwest and beyond to play shows from Richmond, Virginia to Denver, Colorado. SUCKTASTIC! RNCD's latest release, Sucktastic! (RoosterCow/ Backward Masking), is the result of a week of late nights spent at Acme Studios in Chicago recording with Kris Poulin (Metalux, Jim O'Rourke, The Means). Originally released as a five song double seven inch on white vinyl, the record is being re-released in CD format with three extra tracks. From the straightforward rock of '16', to the female stalker confessional of 'Pretender,' from the punk poppy 'Hitlicker' to the retro 50s sound of 'F.U.,' and the aggression of 'White Man,' RNCD is a band completely comfortable bouncing around from one punk rock genre to the next. Throw in two live songs recorded at the Fireside Bowl and you've got this expanded Sucktastic! CD.
