"Cornstalk Fiddle and a Shoestring Bow" by fiddler Rich Hamilton represents the first solo effort of a fiddling career spanning 30 yrs. Known primarily as a bluegrasser, Rich debuts with an album featuring southern fiddle and banjo tunes from the old time songbook with a few original songs to boot. Playing tunes of Edden Hammons, Fred Cockerham, Benton Flippen and the original Carter Family, he pays homage to some of the finest fiddlers to ever rosin a bow. Tunes include Greasy Coat, Cousin Sally Brown, Pretty Little Girl, Arkansas Traveler, Chilly Winds, Lonesome Valley.Cotton Eyed Joe, Jenny Lynn, Cider Mill and 3 original songs; Moonshine Land, A Trace of Affection and Here We Go Again. Fiddlin Rich has fiddled on stage with Karl Schiflet and the Big Country show from TX, Big Country Bluegrass from VA, John McEuen and Jimmy Ibbotson of the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and has performed at Bill Monroe's childhood home with the Stillhouse Jammers and at nearly every major bluegrass fest in the Northeast including Grey Fox, Thomas Point Beach, Winterhawk and Joe Val.
