For You-Decca Years 1963-1969
Every Decca recording from 1963 to 1969, including every hit, every single and every LP! The hits were still plentiful, including Fools Rush In; For You; The Very Thought of You, and Rick’s superb interpretation of Dylan’s She Belongs to Me, but what makes this period truly fascinating are the chances that Nelson took. Seldom has an artist—and especially a teen idol like Nelson—reinvented himself like Rick did on these recordings, as his two 1966 LPs, Country Fever and Bright Lights and Country Music, were the first (and some say the best) country-rock albums ever made, setting the stage for the California country-rock sound to follow. Glen Campbell, Clarence White and Randy Meisner all played on those records; you’ll find the great James Burton and Al Casey on the other sides here, 171 in all. A massive hardcover book rounds out another incredible piece of music scholarship and fandom.
