World Cafe Is the very first CD Release from Guitarist, Composer Roy Scoutz. In many ways it features many of the styles that were to emerge on later releases. From the beginning till the the end of this CD the writing styles from one track to another come from different musical backgrounds. 'GLORY GLORY' starts the CD off as a progressive celtic dance featuring the Mandolin and Viola. The electric treatments it gets here put the semi- celtic music in a different groove. A very unique track all of it's own. Track 2 introduces mainstream instrumental pop on this Med-tempo song which features the melodic melody in three different arrangments hence the title: Suite: Olivia. The Cds high point is track #7: The Three Kindoms which is a grand piece of music based on a simple chopin (Polish Composer)style Piano melody. This is modern impressionism complete with a melodic Guitar Solo in the fade out. The music on this wonderful disc also features solos on the fretless Bass, Viola, Flute, human voice and some great percussion on a romping 17th century Gigue. The one feature that is unique to other releases by Roy scoutz is the three original compositions for Classical Guitar, Flute and orchestra that take up the last quarter of this CD. They are rather ambitious pieces written for the listener to get involved with. But they can also be listened to while digging the garden or chilling in front of the fireplace. If you enjoy different styles of music then this is a CD for you where the attention is on the music rather then the artist. Relax and Enjoy.
