I Remember You
Rusty Mason is a man of many talents. A native of Newport News, Virginia, Rusty moved to Washington, D.C. in 1975 where he began his career as an accomplished singer and actor of stage and film. He has been captivating Washington audiences for many years. A baritone, Rusty has performed all over the D.C. area at such places as T.J. Remington's, Mr. Henry's, The Skydome, The Zoo Bar, Café Italiano, The Sheraton Hotel, St. Paul's Catholic Church, J.W. Marriott Hotel, West Park Hotel, Chiapparelli's, Annapolis Yacht Club, Takoma Station Tavern, B'nai B'rith Klutznick Museum, and Twins Restaurant. He also has performed at various social events, picnics, charity benefits, and weddings. Rusty is also a talented actor appearing in theater, television and the motion picture industry. As a stage actor, Rusty has had parts in "The Boys Next Door," a Foundry Theater Production and "Porgy and Bess," a Kennedy Center Production. As an actor in the television industry, he has appeared in two HBO productions - "The Wire" and "Something the Lord Made. As an actor of the motion picture industry, Rusty has appeared in "Mentality," an Eric Johnson Production, "Sudden Impact," a Steven Speilberg Production, "Head of State," a Chris Rock Production, and "Syriana." Rusty's first love, however, is music, and as a singer, he has performed with some of the leading musicians in the jazz industry. Rusty's polished, easy to listen to style results from vocal lessons with Mr. Rudy Lewis, Ronnie Wells, Ms. Lisa Rich, Mr. Donald Chestnut, and the Folger's Theater. He also has experience singing with big band groups such as the Piazazz Band. Rusty also sang with Victory Jublilee, The Nevellia Olttey Singers, the Alexandria Singers, and The Vienna Singers. Joining Rusty on this CD is John Hicks on piano, Curtis Lundy on bass, Rodney Jones on guitar, David Murray on tenor sax and Lee Pearson on drums. This CD was produced by Hamiett Bluiett.
