Ruth Camille Leonard was born in York, Pa on Decemeber 15, 1982. She is the oldest of six children of Marshall and Darlene Leonard. Ruth started singing for her family at the age of three and often entertained her parents with her rendition of the song 'My Soul is Anchored'. Ruth has also performed with many youth groups as a child and was often a soloist for the Voices of Youth, a choir composed of various singers from across York County. While a student at William Penn S.H.S. Ruth participated in mixed chorus, Gospel Choir, William Penn Performing Arts, William Penn Singers, and piano lab. Ruth has also participated in numerous singing competitions and is currently a member of the praise and worship team at her home church, Faith Communtiy Church. In 2004 she and her siblings Marshall Leonard and Aisha Beatty-White formed the singing group Tried By Fire and produced their 1st CD. Ruth believes that God has blessed her with a voice to sing praises to His Name and to break the yoke of bondage through song. Her favorite gospel performers are Yolanda Adams and CeCe Winans. In 2006 she partnered with her cousin, songwriter Major Wood and came out with her 1st solo CD, So Onederful. (wonderful)
