I started out as a drummer back in Junior High School, playing in several bands throughout all my schooling years. Following graduation from college I took at a 10 year sabbatical from playing music, although my love for music stayed strong. In 2002 I embarked on a second musical journey in my life as I started to play the guitar. Right away it became apparent to me that I was destined to be a singer/songwriter rather than just a musician. I simply could not play the guitar without singing my own lyrics as well. You see something very different happens when the music and lyrics are written from the same mind and soul. Each becomes dependent upon each other to realize the full meaning of the song. This is at the heart of my music. Music is all about the lyrics. Each song should clearly tell a story. Some of the best song writers were more known as poets than vocalists. Such talents as Kurt Cobain, Roger Waters, Marty Willson-Piper, Steve Kilbey, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. These poets tell stories through music and while the music is certainly outstanding, it is the lyrics that connect people to the music. Too many musicians today either forget this or never realized it at all. With the July 2008 release of Geronimo, my first full length record featuring all original material, I was able to tell my stories that have been brewing for many many years.
