It's All About God
Shawn Lamont Heckstall a Richmond VA native was raised in the East End (Mosby Court). Shawn's interest in music started out at an early age of twelve inspired by his uncle, (Larry Heckstall the original Sir Nose of the Parliament Funkadelics'), and has been his passion ever since. His passion blessed him with the ability to learn how to play the piano, drums, congo's, keyboard, and acoustic guitar. He is one of the musicians at his church. He wrote the song titled (New Life) for New Life Deliverance Tabernacle. Shawn is gifted at being a vocalist, songwriter, producer, arranger, and an engineer. He independently released two CD's under his previous artist name Godz Child. Both CD's were sold in several main music stores and received great reviews from Nu Flava magazine. Last single had national play under the name Godz Child (high rotation) in Ahoskie NC, Rockhill SC. Same CD was sold in London, Tokyo, Japan. Shawn was personally contacted by email by Rhythm -N- Praise from N.Y. City requesting to play song from last CD. He has done radio interviews for WCLM 1450 AM Richmond VA. In 2002, WTOY 1480 AM Roanoke VA., also performed at an outside concert with Earl Bynum, the Williams Brothers, WAPJ 89.9 FM Torrington CT. In 2004, débuted on the same program with BET's Comic View's comedian, TuRae at a Richmond VA., establishment. Shawn also appeared in the same line in Maryland with Keith Wonder Boy, and Lee Williams, in July 2005. Shawn currently changed his artist name to "Just Shawn". His sole reason for changing is name is to let others know that he is just being himself and not trying to pretend to be like anyone else. Shawn was given a vision to help others that have struggles in life, and he does this through his music. He dedicates his time to help and inspire others to believe in themselves. Shawn cuts no slack he gives it to you straight. He believes that everyone has a purpose in life all they need is some encouragement.
