'a Show of Hands' is unique among Detroit's hardcore scene. Each section of each song will take on it's own mood, for the listeners to find themselves in a personal place throughout the everchanging tempos, and shifting of level intensity. Tribal beats mesh with delayed, spacey guitar riffs. Jazz breakdowns designed to soothe anxious ears, before the unanticipated explosion of relentless rock guitars, will progress into driving melodies, and exit with just enough wreckage to leave a feeling of uncertainty to what was just heard. While the instrumentation alone is busy enough to occupy the ears; the voice will serve as the heart, to animate the whole.
