Delicately hushed vocals, floating harmonies and melodic, lush arrangements are the foundations of Skyfall's debut EP, Scenes. This Pennsylvania-based trio (two of whom have been friends since kindergarten) formed in 2007 with the goals of making music the basis of their lives and reaching out to listeners with strong, original songwriting. Although the band was officially formed only two years ago, it's history really dates back to 2002 when singer Ryan Asher and drummer Tom Szy began performing at local coffee shops as an acoustic duo. After a few years of playing and developing as writers, they joined forces with bassist Darren McGuire to collaborate and create a full-band musical atmosphere. Blending singer/songwriter lyrics with indie pop/rock hooks, the songs are about life's highlights- the ups and downs and how we deal with them, and realizing who you really are as a person. The driving chorus of 'Bullet Holes' echoes: 'surrounded by water, when all you needed was fire...the road it narrows, as you wish it wider.' Through the themes of love, heartbreak, regret, and escape, SCENES takes the listener through an unforgettable emotional journey.
