Just for Today
A new CD that is dedicated to my Friend, Lee St John who passed away on July 23, 2003 from Cancer. One of His favorite songs was " Two Steps From The Blues" and I have included it on this Album. However, the title song "Just For Today" speaks more to who Lee was to so many that suffered from the disease of active Addiction. Lee was a recovering Alcoholic and had celebrated 10 years of freedom from active use just prior to his passing. He lived passionately and selflessly "Just For Today" The Album is a mix of 60's & 70's pre Motown style R & B, rock and easy listening. Four original tunes and some familiar covers make up the rest of the Album. The songs cross over some generally assumed genre's to deliver a satisfying musical experience Enjoy! Two new songs on the Album were written by Daniel and Danette Baird They are; "How special you are" and the Powerful, "Help me Break This Chain" A song that I had recorded in 1998 was added to this album for the 60's doo wop sound that it reminds me of.....called "I wonder" Written by Linda Bell The song "Just for Today" was a collaboration with Aaron Bell, Carl Storie and Myself. I created the Lyrics and Aaron put the musical structure together while Carl and I molded the song moment by moment with what we were feeling at the time. It's a very powerful song that's loaded with truth, recovery and heart.
