Chronicles of Time
Stephen Hancock was born in New York City in the early 50's in a "French Hospital" which has sence been converted to downtown apartments. At the age of 5 Steve's family moved to Levittown Long Island where he attended kindergarten with rocker "Bill Joel". Hancock would soon be on the move again to Lindenhurst Long Island, where he would continue to live there the better part of his youth. Steve was much of loner in his early years spending his youth with a $5.00 guitar which he had purchased from a childhood friend. As Steve grew musically so did his musical tastes. He was looking for something new to hone is talent on. That something new would come in the form of Rock and Rock when he was introduced to hometown guitarist, Leslie West, who was currently providing guitar lessons at the local music store, "Music Land" located in Lindenhurst. After a few more chance meetings with West, Hancock became more inspired to play the "Rock and Roll" blues based new music that was currently sweeping the world in the mid/early 1960's. Steve would soon become a household name in the area while playing in countless hometown bands. Jazz Fusion, Rock, Country, Blues and Classical projects all became daily life for the multi instrumentalist who calls the flute, sax, trombone, piano, banjo, mandolin and guitars among many others part of is note arsenal. After all of the would be and what seemed failures, i.e. bands that could not see the big picture or lacked the drive to take it to the next level, drove Hancock to continue and pursue his dream and career. In mid July 2004 Stephen Hancock suffered a severe Brain Aneurysm. Hancock wondered if is life long destiny had been derailed as an act of God when in fact the derailment would later take on new meaning as a "Blessing from God". After months of rehabilitation Steve began to write his 1st release which would become a life changing experience which led to the marriage of his 2 greatest loves, his Savior in Christ and his music. The end result would be the "Chronicles of Time" spanning over 2 decades of personal trials and triumphs inspired by his own life and tribulations, which is made clear in the songs compiled on "Chronicles of Time" recordings. Steve's faith and talent are as one and is no better said in his single from the "Chronicles of Time" track "Died for You" which Steve sings: 3 rusty nails drove into a tree. Covers all sins of eternity.
