Rise from the Cold Sleep
Back in the day...at the dawn of time... Marduk and Tigris jammed. When Tigris struck her drums the mountains shook down to their very roots, and when Marduk played his guitar, his licks were so hot that the Cedar Forest burst into flames. Tigris had heard of a good bass player, so she and Marduk traveled to the heart of the primordial chaos itself to contact Tiamat. Tiamat's playing forced tendrils of living darkness too lash the land, and desert formed where the music had touched. With the addition of Enki Du - the beast-man and his amber encrusted mammoth bone xylophone, the band was complete. Soon the Sumos were headlining the finest ziggurats of Nippur and Kish the tour of Akkad and the Land of the Hittites culminated in a ceremony launching the band into outer space to tour the galaxy The Sumerians then toured the Universe for 15.8 million years, were weary, worn out with labor, and returning, surprised to find that only a few thousand years had passed on earth! What man or woman can say what befell the Sumerians? Did they fall into a black hole? Or do the space-ways bend in and out of what we call time? They brought strange sounds back from their long sojourn in the cold places. From the howling of the raw solar wind in the void to the gentile lowing of the crystal intelligences of the Hourglass Nebula. The band recorded an album, disappeared, vanished utterly without trace, and remains shrouded in mystery.... What man or woman can say what befell the Sumerians?
