'Lord, have mercy', is what you hear resounding as she leaves the sanctuary. Toni holds nothing back when she ministers the word of God through song. With a soul stirring message, her voice sends chills up and down your spine. A native Houstonian, she began singing at the age of 10 and is no stranger to the gospel scene. This gospel diva is a product of the Gospel Music Workshop of America and was featured as a lead singer on There's No Limit, GMWA Mass Choir Album recorded in Philidephia, written by Min Isadore Jackson and Precious Lord, recorded by the Golden Triangle Youth Choir. She also has appeared at the Potter's House for Take it to the Bridge 2002 where she sang her arrangement of What Is This? Toni is known internationally as well, she serves as lead singer for the Voices of Gospel, who tours in Germany, France and Italy. Inspired by the preached word of God, Toni has written several songs based on sermons preached by her pastor, Rev. Richard 'Lazarus' Lott, Sr. The title track on her latest project, Advertise Jesus, simply says...If Jesus has done anything for you, then you need to tell somebody. We advertise everything from soft drinks to clothing lines... why not 'Advertise Jesus'. Toni believes that the best witness is a satisfied customer. From down home traditional gospel to urban contemporary, this project has something for everyone, young and seasoned. Her lyrics give a message of hope, life and deliverance. Toni has shared the stage with gospel greats such as Evangelist Beverly Crawford, V. Michael McKay, Leo 'Bubba' Taylor, Rev. Richard 'Mr. Clean' White, Chester D.T. Baldwin, Rev. Milton Biggham, Rev. Marvin Sapp, Carnell Murrell, Rev. Kirk Franklin, Kim Burrell, Gaye Arbuckle, Sisters in Christ, Betty Ransom-Nelson, Ricky Dillard, Rev. Shawn McClemore, Kathy Taylor Brown, John P. Kee, Betty-Griffin Keller (of James Cleveland Singers) and host of others. Known as 'Lil Thumper', she played the drums for many gospel greats, including the late Rev. James Cleveland, the Texas Mass Choir of GMWA and the late Rev. BJ Fears. Her beats can also be heard on an album recorded by the DFW Mass Choir on a song entitled, Don't Give Up, which was written by her mother, Claudette Fowler. Last winter, backed by a group of anointed singers called Rejoice, Toni recorded her latest project at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where she serves a member (first) and Minister of Music.
