With over 15 recordings released under his name, critically acclaimed saxophonist Walt Weiskopf's newest release is his first live recording simply titled "Live". Weiskopf assembled a trio of top musicians for the concert at the biannual North American Saxophone Alliance convention at the University of South Carolina that includes Renee Rosnes, Paul Gill and the late Tony Reedus for whom the CD is dedicated. Weiskopf spoke of Tony as, "The best jazz drummer I ever knew." Most of the music was penned by Weiskopf along with a couple of beautifully arranged standards. If you've never heard him play live in concert, here's your chance to hear something very special.
