Deadheads and lovers of pure bluegrass were equally enchanted by "Old & in the Way," the eponymous album that this short-lived band put out in ’75. Led by Jerry Garcia and master mandolinist David Grisman (and featuring two of Bill Monroe’s Bluegrass Boys, Peter Rowan and Vassar Clements), the band lit up the Boarding House in San Francisco with those 1973 performances. What many folks don’t know is that the band played two shows there a week apart. This set brings you all 55 songs from both shows, 14 of which have never been released: "On and On," "Catfish John," "Lost," "Kissimmee Kid," "Pig in a Pen," "Wild Horses," "Muleskinner Blues," "The Hobo Song," "Uncle Pen," "Blue Mule," "Panama Red," "White Dove," "Wicked Path of Sin" and more! Acoustic Disc.
