Stevie Holland returns to the recording studio! Her swinging jazz phrasing, sense of humor and sheer vocal beauty shine right on through her sixth release, Talk to Your Tomatoes.

Recorded in April 2025, Talk to Your Tomatoes is Holland’s sixth release of standards and original material from 150 Music. Holland’s selection of material is always personal. As a child of the 70’s, artists like Joni Mitchell and James Taylor were enormous influences. The covers of their songs reflect distinct memories as does “Pure Imagination”, from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Holland’s been singing the jazz standard “‘Round Midnight” for decades and chose to record it with the brilliant guitarist Ben Monder, who she’s known since high school. As with all her albums, also included are original songs penned with longtime collaborator and arranger, award-winning composer Gary William Friedman.

The zany title track “Talk to Your Tomatoes” as well as the song “You Pull Through” were written for a still-percolating ilm project. Her previous recordings include Life Goes On and Before Love Has Gone, which was chosen as a top critics’ album pick of the year by USA TODAY, a top jazz album by iTunes and an Album Pick by All Music Guide. The broad appeal of her albums has led them to chart on jazz, smooth jazz, traditional pop and standard radio stations nationally.

In addition to the release of her recordings, Stevie Holland’s career has included writing for and performing in the theater. Her musical Love, Linda: The Life of Mrs. Cole Porter, which she created with Friedman and starred in, enjoyed a successful off-Broadway run and was ilmed for a worldwide on-demand video release in 2021, earning Holland a BEST ACTRESS IN A FEATURE FILM award at the Culver City Film Festival in California. The film currently streams on Amazon Prime/BroadwayHD.
