My Mind Was a Mirror features chamber music involving classical guitar by Terry Champlin, classcial guitarist/composer. The title track is a beautiful song with lyrics based on a poem from Edgar Lee Master's 'Spoon River Anthology.' 'Lullaby' manages to be heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time with it's gentle melody and lyrics about love and loss. 'To Match the Voice and the Face' is a three movement song collection with lyrical contributions from classics Professor, Carolyn DeWald and Tony Wright, artist and painter of album covers for Bob Dylan, Traffic, Bob Marley and other notables. 'Love Song and Variations' is a trio for violin, classical guitar and percussion. The piece was written as a wedding present for a musician couple who are long time friends of Terry's. A young hot shot group of NYC guitarists played 'The Harp of David' guitar quartet. The CD ends with a hymn like tune featuring a poem by W. B. Yeats. Musicians on the album are the following: Terry Champlin, classical guitar Helen Avakian, voice, steel string guitar Sabina Torosjan, violin, viola Jeff Haynes, percussion (musician with Cassandra Wilson, Liz Wright, Pete Seeger, Pat Methaney) Scott Petito, guitar, percussion, organ, bass Dan Lewis, Vilian Ivantchev, Chris Funke, Victor Main, classical guitar.
